Had an unpleasant start to this morning, had to attend an appointment with an Opthamologist. Been putting it off for 2 years, but started to get freaked out about not being able to sew if I went blind. It really isn't that serious, I have a family history of glaucoma, and they like to start routine testing early. Prevention is possible, but once you have glaucoma there is NO cure. So decided to stop being a baby, and get it done. It was not fun, those nasty drops sting, and I couldn't really see properly till lunch time. But it is out of the way and all is good.

On a more fun note, I decided to sign up for Cyber Stitching with Mrs Martin. (Sorry the deadline was today!!) And forgot to tell you I got my Challenge pack from Kerry at Cottage on the Hill (Nundle). I will be a very busy girl over the next few weeks! But hey what is new.

Taking my tired eyes to bed now.

Bees Knees Update

I have finally managed to get the blocks for this quilt together. I have decided it needs to be make less busy, so I require sashing and of course I cant seem to find meterage. So I need to put it aside for a little while, which is a little frustrating. So tomorrow I will decide what to go on with, there is plenty to choose from as usual. Will keep you updated on that front.

BBBRRRRRRRRR!!!!

I just couldn't get warm last night, even with a wheat bag at my toes and wearing my lovely flannels! Until this point the quilt has been hanging decoratively over the end of the bed, but every year there comes a night, when it moves to the bed proper. Last night was the night.  I checked the B.O.M. website this morning to discover that at 8 am it was 2.2. The lowest it got to was 0.1 at 6.30 am, just as my poor DH was heading off to work (outside). Don't really know how he gets his fingers working on days like today. So here is a pic of the bed all rugged up, I just love sleeping under my quilt.  BFN Lynda

I Feel Special!!

Had some girls over for an Aromatherapy Party on Friday night, and Nic bought her clan with her. Her eldest DD had stitched me a little gift, I dont know why, but she did. I felt so special and really appreciate the effort she went to to make my little monogrammed pillow!! Dont ask me why the pic is on its side, it just seems to want to load that way and I cant make it spin around!!! LOL BFN Lynda

Bargain Hunting!

I am so excited!!! I have wanted a seat for the front of the house for ages, but lack of funds really got in the way. I was in K-mart this morning, just minding my own business when they announced 50% off the clearance stuff at the back of the store. I trundled up to see what was there and found my new bench for $49.50. Boy I like being in the right place at the right time. The kids and I put it together in about 10 min, in fact it took longer to break the box up for the recycling bin. LOL

PS Nic has commented on the shopping trolley's. We live next to a public walking track that is a path people often take on their way home from shopping. Every now and then they bring a trolley with them, and dump it in the park adjacent to our home. I collect them, for collection by the supermarkets.

Ok, so I was a little Naughty!!

Went to visit June at Lily Patches today!! She is open for business as of Monday this week. She has done incredibly well to get this far this fast, and all without much help from her Landlord. The shop is not completely restocked yet, but I did find the lovely fabrics pictured above. I told myself I was making a purchase to help June out, but seriously......do you ever need an excuse to buy fabric. I am making a quilt, and yes it is cut and I am about to sew. So what about everything else?? It will still be there when I finish this one.

Whoohoo!!

Thought you might like to see the whole thing, not wrapped around a person. LOL!! I am pleased with the result and I think Alanah is too.

So what next???...............Back to Summer Breeze that I started at quilt camp. I have layed it out on the table and am trying to get my head back into it, but am struggling a bit! It is hard when you have put a project down for a while, even just 2 weeks. Here is how it looks so far!

Done!!

Well the binding is done! Just need to trim up some loose threads then add a label and it is completely finished!! Fingers are a little sore, been a while since I did so much hand sewing on one day! It hasn't taken all day by the way. By the time we shopped at Knox till 1pm, then I listed some ebay items I didn't get to it till about 4pm. Then there was the cooking and eating of tea etc. I actually finished almost an hour ago but DH had to finish a war before I could access the PC to get the pic off the camera. So there she is, all snuggled up underneath!! Yippee, night night!!

Almost there.

Have turned the last corner and am on the home stretch. I am still in with a chance!!!

Plan for today!!

I have one goal for today, and that is the finish the binding on Alanah's quilt. I need to do some washing etc but can fit that around the couch time to stitch the binding. I will tell you later how I went!!!

Also dont know how many of you know I have a little ebay shop, in which I sell what I term as Patchwork Paraphernalia. I basicly buy bits and pieces I need to do my patchwork, and buy a few extra's and sell them on ebay. I have just gotten in a couple of new (and I think exciting) little things. I seriously I cant believe I am contemplating having a go. I was so interested in the grandmothers flower garden that Ros was working on on camp, and I remembered that one of the wholesalers I dealt with sold the paper liners. They have them in several different sizes and at this point I have ordered 2 sizes. 10mm and 26mm. YES I said 10mm!!!! They are sooooooo tiny, but I sooooooo want to have a go!! I doubt if I would ever make a whole quilt, but a table runner maybe doable. Here is a picture......

Also I should give you a link to Patchwork Promises. If you have seen something somewhere else, I am happy to see if I can rustle it up for you!

See you later tonight!! (Hopefully with a finished quilt!!)

Soup, glorious soup!!!

This is the soup I made with the pumpkin Anne gave me!! It was soooooo yummy! As you can see I like to sprinkle mine with grated cheese and freshly ground black pepper. This soup is made with pumpkin, potaotes, carrots and water. No seasoning at ALL and it tastes FANTASTIC!! I made it plain as my niece was coming for dinner and she has lots of allergies. And when I tasted it to see what I needed to add for myself, it needed nothing. SUPER pumpkin Anne, thanks again.
